as most of my friends know, i LOVE pictures! so of course, one of the first things i wanted to book was a photographer. i've been looking forward to engagement pictures for a long time and i wanted to make sure i found someone great. i knew the style of photos i wanted. after searching online for photographers in emerald isle and raleigh, my friend jenn told me about a guy she knew, named brent gulledge, through her mom. i checked out his website and fell in love with his work! i was a little worried because he's based out of charlotte but he was more than willing to travel. we booked him and i couldn't be happier!

on february 26, we shot our engagement pictures. i was a little worried about the weather since it was still winter but we lucked out. the day wasn't too chilly and the sun was shining! we started off at sarah duke gardens in durham, nc. this was actually the place johnathan and i had some prom pictures taken back in high school! it definitely brought back some memories! we had fun walking around the gardens with brent finding unique spots for pictures! you know i'm NOT one with nature but i actually enjoyed it! :) here are a few of my favorites from duke...
for the 2nd half of our shoot, we went to the old tobacco district in downtown durham, nc. i wasn't exactly sure where we were going but once we got there, i realized it was right beside the durham bulls baseball stadium. this was a fun place as well! we walked along the railroad tracks. (NOTE: don't attempt to wear super high wedge heels when doing this!) we walked around some of the old buildings and even found a tractor! *cue jason aldean's "big green tractor" song* :) here are some of my favorites from downtown...
