it's official!

it's official!  johnathan and i went and got our marriage certificate this afternoon.  i was surprised at how fast it was!  i filled out the online application a few weeks ago and it took no time at all!  it took us longer to figure out which elevator would take us to the lobby!  (seriously)

tomorrow is october 1!  wedding day, here we come!

it's 1 month away!

today is september 22.  our wedding is 1 month away!

back in january, it seemed as if we had all the time in the world and now suddenly, it's here!  honestly, i'm getting a little nervous and i think johnathan is too.  i don't think the nervousness is about getting married.  it's strange because we've been together almost 13 years as boyfriend/girlfriend/fiances.  now, we're putting a new title on it and it makes me feel weird.  i'm worried about being the center of attention and being in front of tons of people!  i'm worried about how everything's going to come together.  i'm having dreams about our dj not showing up and me not having any flowers.  i know it will turn out ok in the end but the anxiety is starting to build!

my bridal shower

my matron of honor, leah, and my bridesmaids, jenn, sarah, amanda, and sam, threw me a bridal shower this weekend.  i was really nervous to be the center of attention but it wasn't as bad as i thought!  my girls did a great job of planning and getting it all together!  they all live in different places and are super busy with work, new houses, and babies!  they chose a beachy theme which actually reminded me a lot of what i'm planning for the wedding!  thank you soo much for my shower, girls!  i love you all!  and thank you to everyone who braved the chilly rain to come!  enjoy some of the photos!

bridal portraits

the time has quickly come for bridal portraits!  i've had to plan all the details in about a week's time!  i was really worried about finding a location because venues book up months in advance and finding one available on a weekend was sure to be impossible!

a friend of mine from high school, bridgette, just had a beautiful wedding last weekend in downtown cary at the matthew's house.  here's a pic i stole...

i decided to take a chance and see if they had any available times for pictures.  after some emails, they were nice enough to accommodate us even though there was going to be a wedding there and they'd be cleaning up.  i'm so excited!  i think the backgrounds will be gorgeous!

now to plan the other details!



changing of the....groomsmen

well, i've never been to london but this does feel a little like changing of the guards...except it's groomsmen!

i was sad to find out that one of johnathan's groomsmen, mike, won't be able to be in the wedding due to some family obligations.  we're so sad cause he's such a great and funny guy!  but we completely understand and hope he'll be able to at least make it to some part of the wedding festivities!

so, the search was on for a 5th groomsmen.  it was hard enough for johnathan to choose the first 5.  so, after some thinking and bugging from me...he chose mr. rj brown.

johnathan and rj have been friends for years.  they're both mustang lovers and tow truck drivers.  rj bought one of johnathan's mustangs that was taking up room in our driveway so i love him for taking that away for me!  :)  i know he'll be a great addition to the group!
