it's been a month since we left for our honeymoon! johnathan and i took a disney cruise and had an awesome time! neither one of us had ever been on a cruise so we were really excited! here's a quick recap of our trip!
after the reception, we weren't quite ready for the night to end. i know newlyweds are supposed to drive off into the sunset and spend the evening together as husband and wife. well, that's hard when all your best friends have come to the beach for your wedding! we decided to go out to the emerald club to celebrate our wedding and amber's birthday! we piled into cars and headed a mile down the road...

they called us out to the dance floor to dance to blake shelton's "honeybee."
i remember being so happy that night! it was like we were floating! it had been such an amazing weekend!
i blogged about sparklers back when i was planning. we put them together and they looked like this.
we were having so much fun dancing that some of the main events kind of got delayed. we finally had the sparkler send off. johnathan's mustang was our getaway car. it had been hidden during the day so that no one would mess with it!

the next day, we went to lunch with johnathan's family before leaving. while we were eating, his brother, kevin and his girlfriend, amber got ahold of johnathan's mustang and did a little late decorating!
then we had to go back and take a picture of johnathan's burn out marks.
our cake turned out exactly as we wanted! i only wish i'd had more time to look at it and enjoy it before it was eaten! i also wish i'd gotten a piece of strawberry and red velvet cake. :( somehow i didn't get any that night and ended up with a whole layer of yellow cake and our top layer of red velvet. oh well. maybe sometime we can visit the american dream cakes bakery and get a slice of strawberry!
it's very easy to come up with what i'm thankful for this year. i feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
i'm thankful for my hubby, johnathan. i'm thankful for finally getting to see him everyday and share every day's little moments with my best friend!
i'm thankful for my family.
i'm thankful to be a part of a new family that has always made me feel like one of their own but over the last few months, i've really felt the love and it's the best thing ever!
i'm thankful for my friends. they give me love and lots of laughs. they keep me going and without them i don't know what i'd do!!
i'm thankful for our house. i'm thankful for being able to have a beautiful home with johnathan that's safe and warm and right down the road from friends!
i love music. i love dancing. i really wanted our reception to feel like a club...minus the sweat and sketchy people. i was really really happy with the turn out of friends and family willing to break it down on the dance floor!

i'd never heard this song until our dj played it for us. it made her cry and when johnathan picked her up, she lost it.

wow! it's hard to believe that this time last month, we were anxiously getting ready for our big day! after 13 years, it seems strange to be starting over at 1 month! I've gotten to see johnathan everyday for the past month! that's one thing i've never been able to say!
so, happy 1 month wedding anniversary, mr. murphy! i love you!
our 1st dance was a special moment. we've had "our song" for 13 years now so there was no question what we were going to dance to. our song is "home to you" by john michael montgomery. it was on the radio for a few weeks but never became a huge hit...except to us. we actually had the chance to meet john michael montgomery randomly at the clayton wal mart one year. we got his autograph, told him "home to you" was our song, and took a pic.
the words were always special but after spending 13 years apart, they meant even more that day.
