having some girl time

after the rehearsal dinner, my girls and i decided to have a fun night.  some of us went to food lion for beverages and snacks.  when we got back to the hotel, we got comfy and went for a walk on the beach.  there were lots of jellyfish and it was freezing so we didn't stay too long!

we then split up into our rooms.  ananda and leah hung out with me for awhile having some girl talk.  after ananda left, leah and i tried watching tv and sleeping but neither one of them went too well!  we didn't have much of a cell phone signal in the room and she needed to call her hubby and i needed to facebook!  so, at 1:00 am we wandered out in the parking lot in search of a signal...and some "shandwiches."  we didn't find much of either but we managed to fall over with laughter.  all that was missed was a wet washcloth (inside joke!)  we did see johnathan and eric come back from their trip to the haunted house.  finally, we were able to go back to sleep and get a little rest before the big day!

friday, october 21 was our rehearsal dinner.  it seemed like we had all day and then before we knew it, it was 5:30!  ananda just did make it and pony wasn't able to come but we practiced with who we had and things went great!  much thanks to amber for being our "wedding planner" for the weekend!  and whoever's idea it was to have the bridal party choose a rock and put it down where they were supposed to stand was pretty crafty!  until my grandpa decided to kick the rocks away so no one would trip!  haha.  it was a beautiful night, not too chilly, and we had a great time!

after rehearsal we had dinner at rucker john's.  things there didn't go as smoothly as we had planned.  all i know is that our table was full of laughs and love (and boobs thanks to jenn).  ha!  i can't wait to return there on our next trip to emerald isle for our 1st dinner as mr. and mrs. murphy, party of 2!  :)

the day before our wedding, our family and friends packed up and headed down to emerald isle.  a few days before i was informed that we were going to be responsible for setting up the reception area.  this only added to my stress!  luckily, my bridesmaids and family were more than happy to help!

my bridesmaid...and now sis-in-law, got there super early and started on the chair sashes.  if it hadn't of been for her, we might still be tying them!  with a little starfish help from bridesmaid, sarah, the finished product looked like this!

after hours of searching for matching table cloths and arranging tables and chairs, we got everything set up.

when we were finished, we just had a little bit of time to get cleaned up and ready for the rehearsal dinner!

SO MUCH THANKS to everyone who helped set up that day and later that night.  i couldn't have done it without you!  it looked great!

long time, no post!

this is just a real quick blog...my 1st as mrs. murphy...to say that i haven't forgotten about it!  the last few weeks have been insanely busy!  between the wedding bash, a week of working (which included report cards, meetings, and parent/teacher conferences), and our honeymoon....i haven't had much time!

bachelorette bash!

this past saturday was my bachelorette party!  i was picked up by sarah and tia in the bachelorette mobile and we headed off to cheesecake factory!  there i had 12 of my closest friends together for dinner.  it was such a fun time!  i got lots of great gifts and a really yummy cake!  from there, some of us went downtown to city limits saloon where we drank and danced the night away!  we even took the opportunity to do some bull riding!  some of us did better than others!  i taught my girls the electric slide, cha cha slide, and cupid shuffle in preparation for the wedding reception!  i haven't had that much fun in a long time and i thank everyone SO much for coming!  especially my matron of honor and bridesmaids for all their hard work and stress!  i love you all!

10 . 11 . 11

today is johnathan and my 13th anniversary.  we'll be getting married in 11 days!  13 years ago today, we were in high school.  i remember sitting in the living room that night talking to johnathan on the telephone.  the weekend before, he'd called me his girlfriend and i was confused about what we were.  in my high school, you weren't boyfriend/girlfriend until you were asked "will you go out with me?"  i guess at johnathan's high school things worked differently.  after explaining this to him, he said "well fine.  will you go out with me?"  i said "yes" and the rest is history!  the # 1011 has always been special to us.  it pops up all the time when we least expect it.  we always take it as a sign that we're meant to be.  i always thought we'd get married on 10/11 but 10/22 seems like a new start.  we'll always have 2 special days to celebrate that are 11 days apart!

so, in 11 days, we go from being boyfriend/girlfriend and fiance's to being husband and wife.  it's a little strange but i can't think of anyone i'd rather start the journey with!
